Milagros Para Ti is an eclectic arts'n'crafts store and folk art gallery in Oaxaca. Mexico offers folk-art in a dazzling wealth of form, color and fantasy. Much of what you will find in Milagros Para Ti is made as it has been for hundreds of years. Markets and small villages have been combed to find the most creative and enduring pieces. Pottery is still formed by hand, natural dyes are made from plants and insects collected from the countryside, copper is hand-pounded into wonderful utensils, rugs are woven on ageless looms, and life is breathed into pieces of wood as they take shape in the hands of master carvers. The themes used in folk-art come from the experiences of daily life giving us a glimpse into the rich and vital traditions of Mexico.

Our "milagros" are the creations of a corps of very talented artists and craftsmen. All of what Milagros Para Ti offers has been designed and hand-crafted by individuals whose work is of the finest quality. We work not only with folks who have the distinction of having been named "grand masters of Mexico Folk Art" but also with newer up and coming artists whose talents we want to share with you.

All our items have been personally selected by Debbie and are usually one of a kind. Our goal is to present Mexico's finest folk art and crafts at the fairest possible prices. New traditions are also being forged. Mexican "pewter" began as a response to the world shortage of pewter. It is really re-cycled aluminum molded into beautiful pieces often incorporating pre-Hispanic designs. Cross-stitch decorates borders of hand-woven shawls. Baby rompers delight grandmothers with their hand-embroidered colorfast whimsical designs. Hand-made paper becomes luminous lampshades and cherished photo albums. The different regions of Oaxaca are celebrated in the songs of Susana Harp whose voice is as sweet as the breezes drifting through the mountain regions.
